Family Diary 1911 (full article)
This is a copy of a diary which records the journey of a family emigrating from
Clydebank to Brisbane in 1911 and consists of a few lines each day reporting activities
and life on board the SS Cornwall, a refrigerated cargo ship. It was written by
a second cousin twice removed, of member Maureen Watson and was sent to the Watsons
by two of their family history contacts in Australia, both grandchildren of the
writer. The edited version of this article appears in the March 2012 society newsletter
- shorter because of lack of space for the full document.
